Discover the natural beauty of small harbors and beautiful bays of the Schoodic area. Here we will share the many islands with bald eagles, osprey, seals, porpoise and other wildlife. See the pink granite shoreline this area is known for.
Flanders Bay
We love the Sullivan area with Treasure Island, Sheldrake and Ash Islands and small Junk of Pork. At low tide the shell bars link the islands together. We frequently see osprey, seals and if we're lucky porpoise. See the mountains of Mount Desert Island as a backdrop to Flanders Bay.
Gray Road Beach
Launching from the beach we paddle by Ironbound Island with it's cliffs and magical Devil's Den. We continue by Flat, Heron and Spectacle Islands. A favorite stop is on Turtle Island, home to a hube evergreen tree decorated with lobster buoys.
Gouldsboro Bay to the Sally Islands
The village of Corea is home to a picturesque fishing village and a beautiful sand cove rimmed with wild roses. From that cove we paddle up Gouldsboro Bay over to Lobster Cove and down to the Sally Islands. Hopefully the area seals are sunning themselves as we paddle by.
